Australia - Perth

Regional Community

The Western Australian Regional Burning Man event is Blazing Swan. Blazing Swan is a multi-day camping event, held in the shire of Kulin several hours east of Perth. It has run every year from 2014-2019, but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Normally several thousand people attend. The site is next to Jillakin Lake, a salt lake, and is known as Jillakin Rock City. Normally the event runs from Wednesday, and includes the burning of a swan shaped effigy on Saturday night (the highlight of the event). It's the best party in West Australia, and has dozens of active theme camps in a great setting, with lots of natural  bush and landscape  but also some permanent on site facilities. It is run by Blazing Swan Inc., a non-profit organisation formed by members of the community.
