Regional Community

The Australian Burner community is thriving ! We welcome people with open arms and encourage participation in our various efforts. There is always something happening year round in our corner of the Burnerverse. There are 4 Regional Burns and 2 Decompression gatherings held across our country. We have 10 BM regional contacts serving Western Australia, Victoria, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane & Cairns – please reach out to them if you'd like to connect with Burners in those citys or regions.

MODIFYRE is the official Burning Man regional event for Queensland. The event is built on a series of guiding principles which act as guidelines for the worldwide Burning Man Regional Network. As such, the event may be understood as a celebration of a way of life lived consistently with these principles. Once a year we create a temporary village built on a gift economy, fuelled by communal effort, lit with radical thinking and filled with participatory Art, Theme camps, performance, workshops, music and of course Fire.   Modifyre Facebook Page

BOSS (Burners Of Sydney and Surrounds) is the Burner community org for NSW. We make the Sydney Decompression (for Burning Seed) happen, and support NSW Burners to connect, make art, learn, and reach out to the broader community. Hit us up on the socials to find out what we're up to!   BOSS Facebook Page

MELBURNERS is the community organisation tasked with furthering Burning Man culture throughout Melbourne & Victoria. We run a Decompression gathering each year, as well as numerous other events. All of our funds raised are used to support artists, theme camps, and charities which embody the Burner culture!   MelBurners Facebook Page

BLAZING SWAN is a NFP association that holds an event in Kulin, Western Australia each year over the Easter holiday weekend. The event is an experiment in a temporary community inspired by Burning Man and it's 10 principles with the addition of our own 11 principle – Consent. Our home is the Swan's Nest in Fremantle, a warehouse space where our community can gather, create and share the magic all year around.   Blazing Swan Facebook Page

BURNING SEED is Australia’s oldest regional event. Founded in 2010 as an experimental gathering dedicated to creativity, collaboration and a cash-free community — Burning Seed is conceived, built, run and returned to nothing again by a 100% volunteer crew. Red Earth City is located in the Riverina region of New South Wales about an hour from Wagga Wagga. The Burning Seed organisation thanks the Wiradjuri people who so generously welcome us to gather on Country each year. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and acknowledge the past, present and future relationship that the Wiradjuri people have with this land, its waters, the winds, the plants and animals. Common Arts Victoria is dedicated to community building through art and events. Our flagship event – Underland – happens in late-September each year in regional Victoria. It attracts approximately 500 people. Though it is not an official regional burn, it is still run in accordance with the 10 Principles. The rest of the year we run a variety of community events, including camp outs, community markets, info sessions and pub nights. Check out http://www.Underland.com.au or http://www.facebook.com/commonartsvic for more information.

The Capital Incendiary Authority Inc. is the Australian Capital territory's community based regional Burning Man not for profit associated entity. We are responsible for creating opportunities for community to connect, upskill and to foster the local enculturation of Burning Man culture, fundraising, and distribution of raised funds to facilitate and support local Burner projects, art grants and fundraising events. We facilitate an annual Winter Solstice Microburn fundraiser and or a decompression event each year. NB – the Winter Solstice MicroBurn is not a Burning Man endorsed regional Burn.
