2024 ELS Call for Content

Share Your Ideas for ELS through our Call for Content 

We invite you to share your insights and creativity with other Burning Man community builders at our Summit in Tallinn, Estonia. We welcome contributions ranging from workshops, panels, and talks to offers of art installations, performances and experiences. YOUR great ideas and offerings will undoubtedly inspire participants and enrich the Summit in Tallinn and help us fulfill Burning Man’s mission in the world.

To help you craft your content proposal, please check out the following resources:

Our goal for the ELS is to foster co-learning amongst culture makers and provocateurs from across Burning Man’s Regional Network dedicated to facilitating Burning Man culture in their local communities year-round. We are especially looking for session proposals that empower participants by giving them tools and tangible skills to immediately apply in their roles as community facilitators for their own, team or community development.

Bonus points are given for: 

  • case studies from communities that have not been featured in previous ELS programs– we want to hear your voice! 
  • meaningful interactive workshop or session presented in a fun and playful way
  • programming that relates to the theme BEing and Bridging: Together We Gather
  • content covering the following critical community needs:

Community and Organization Development Needs
The top-ranked areas of community and organization development needs:

      1. Civic project development.
      2. Acculturation and local application of the 10 Principles.
      3. Radical inclusion, diversity and equity.
      4. Leadership / Board development.
      5. Environmental sustainability.
      6. Fundraising tips (grant application, benefit events).


People Management Needs
The top-ranked areas of people management needs:

      1. Volunteer recruitment + management (retention, development).
      2. Volunteer succession planning + implementation.
      3. Code of Conduct development and implementation.
      4. Crisis communications support.
      5. Conflict management + resolution.
      6. Project management (application of processes and resources toward a goal).


Community Event Production Support Needs
The top-ranked community event production support needs:

      1. Practices supporting inclusion, diversity and equity.
      2. Practices supporting environmental sustainability.
      3. Finding suitable event spaces/locations.
      4. Insurance.

and/or the following subject areas (but not limited to): civic activation, community event planning, leadership skills, and organizational development.

We also welcome creative contributions including art installations, performances and experiences that will inspire participants and enrich the summit experience in Tallinn.
