Welcome to the Los Angeles region information page! 

The LA region is HUGE! It stretches all the way up and includes Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Ojai all the way down through the Beach Cities to the Orange County border — and all the way out to include the Inland Empire, HIgh Desert, and everything in between.

We’re not just large — we’re also a very diverse region with passionate burners from all walks of life — originating from all over the world and culminating here in LALA land.

The best way to know what our community is to jump in and say “hi!” in our community discussion group on Facebook called LA Burners. It’s a great place to introduce yourself, and get a feel for some of what’s going on in this big ol’ region of ours.

We also have a Facebook page that’s more for announcements than discussions — it’s called (shockingly) LA Burning Man. It’s also the page we use to create official FB event pages, so if you’re looking for something to do, check there first!

Our Desert/Inland Empire-area regional (still considered “LA” region, we *did* say it was a huge region!) is the delightfully charming Do or Di  — who has taken over every-so-often informational newsletter-type thingy that had fallen into disrepair, dusted it off, and polished into a useful, informative announcement email/newsletter that will help keep you on top of All Things LA Burning Man.

~~~~~MONTHLY MEETUPS ALL OVER THE PLACE(-ISH)~~~~~

Pre-COVID, we had meetups in several places around LA, and are excited to be restarting them!

We’ll be posting about any upcoming meetups on our LA Burning Man Facebook Page, in the LA Burners FB discussion group, and if possible, in the LA Burning Man Newsletter (playa dust in your inbox)!

CULVER CITY — Every 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6pm
The Garage on Motor Avenue, 3387 Motor Avenue

NORTHSIDE — Our longest running and mostly on-auto-pilot meetup is on the Third Thursday of the month* at the Burner-owned Risky Business (formerly known as The Other Door) in Burbank (you’ll get a hint of the French Quarter every time you go in)!  Here's some details on an (old but still accurate) event page on the Risky Business website, but if it's the Third Thursday, it's on! 
*This meetup used to be on Sundays – but has moved to the Third Thursday – though at a burner-owned bar as rad as Risky Business, EVERY DAY could be a Burner Meetup, just go be a burner – if you show up burner-ful and meet burner-ful people, it's a burner meetup!) 

WE WANT EVEN MORE!!! MEETUPS:

We’re on the hunt for awesome, friendly locations that enjoy the creative, sometimes dusty burners that can help us bond, learn, and grow! Restaurant/bars do nicely, as they take the pressure off of private individuals hosting, but we’re also open to spaces that would be good for crafting, classes (think TEDx LABM-style), and any other creative types of meeting that you can shake a stick at!

If you are connected to or know of such a place, please let us know! BONUS PRIZE (and a STAR – gold AND otherwise!) if you’d like to help host one! We lean towards having them at regular intervals, but any chance to meet up is better than none!
