Spain - Barcelona

Barcelona is a fertile ground for creativity and playfulness! The culture here already resembles that of the burns… fire is used in many festivities and rituals as a renewer of life and the streets are alive with art, music, performance, festivals, and breath-taking art installations (architecture).

In recent years, the Barcelona burners have created some wonderful events and projects. Barcelona is also a hub for the organisation of Nowhere, a Spanish and European regional burn in the Monegros desert in July.

Urban Playa is a social experiment and event that takes place in Barcelona, during the week of Burning Man, and beyond!

The 10 principles, spirit, and ethos of Burning Man are the foundation of Urban Playa. UP strives to integrate the principles into the local community/society and redirect humans to the artist within, and the limitless possibilities of collective conscious co-creation. Burning Barna is a monthly community meetup which (usually) takes place on the third Thursday of every month. Follow the Facebook page for updates.
