Welcome to the radiant world of RoBurn Mythical Creatures, where the ordinary fades and a legendary realm of magical figures comes alive!

RoBurn is more than an event and a community. We are the official regional branch of the Burning Man movement in Romania. Burning Man is a global ecosystem of artists, makers, and community organizers who co-create art, events, and local initiatives around the world.

The 10 Burning Man Principles represent our core beliefs and the philosophical foundation of RoBurn.

Experience the magic of diversity and inclusion as we create a collective story based on  gifting without contemplation of return or exchange, participation, self-expression, self-reliance, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, decommodification, communal effort, and immediacy.

In our community free of commercial sponsors and advertising, we invite and experience authentic human interactions in a way that lets go of the concept of money as found in daily life.

Where?

RoBurn comes to life in a place, where natural beauty and hospitality converge, and the warm welcome of the local community enriches the experience, adding a touch of authentic Romanian culture and charm.

How to pack and prepare?

Radical Self-reliance is our mantra, as we will be camping in nature.

Prepare for a legendary one-week journey with foresight and supplies, by: making sure you have enough food and water supplies, proper clothing, and a first aid kit. Keep in mind, that we might encounter high temperatures, cold evenings, and wind or heavy rain.

Grocery stores and emergency services may be at least a 15-minute drive away.

What is a camp?

Theme Camps can be organized groups that collaborate and gift services, entertainment, art, creative interactive experiences, and more for everyone at RoBurn. This interactivity can be truly anything! It can also be the home where camp members sleep, eat, and take care of their needs while living together in nature.

Camping

There are three camping styles and all the RoBurn participants are encouraged to choose the most fitting one for their needs:

1. Free camping: Choose your spot and set up independently. This involves camping self-sufficiently, bringing all necessary gear and supplies, often in a more remote or less organized area. This style of camping provides autonomy and freedom in choosing a location but also requires self-reliance as amenities might be limited or absent.
2. Participate in an already-established camp: Join a pre-existing campsite where the infrastructure, amenities, and joint activities are already established, and your participation is encouraged. This option allows for a more structured experience, often enabling a sense of community as campers collaborate in various activities, share resources, and contribute to the collective experience.
3. Create and develop your camp: Get in touch with us at romania@burningman.org. Shape and curate a unique camping experience to set the tone, theme, and activities for your camp. This modality involves coordination, planning, and collaborating with others who are interested in joining. It’s a chance to build a community from scratch and create an environment that reflects your vision and fosters connections and experiences that reflect your vision and interests.

Our event promotes sustainable behaviors

Our community respects the environment. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and aim to leave the place in a better state than when we found it.

This is why we encourage using biodegradable materials and keeping in mind resource efficiency.
