Washington, DC

This group includes members of the Burning Man community who live in Washington, DC as well as the surrounding metro area, including parts of Maryland, Virgina, and West Virginia. Also referred to as the DMV.

Our community is very active and includes a number of Burning Man and Regional festival theme camps, as well as community and art groups that keep the energy going year round.

Our region hosts two Burning Man Regional burns each year, coordinated by FirePony Creative Society. The first is Playa del Fuego (PDF), which is held every May. The second event is Constellation, which is held every October. There are several other Burning Man inspired events including Summerisle, BurnIn and Frostburn.

Every 2 years we also gather at MALC (Mid-Atlantic Leadership Conference). Welcoming regional contacts, board members, regional events leaders, theme camp leaders, artists and other local community leaders to share ideas and best practices, as well to inspire and learn from each other. The next one is scheduled April 4-6, 2025 in Philadelphia, PA. 

The DC Burners is a diverse and expansive community holding regular meetups at parks, dinners, Dim Sum, popular bars, bike rides, workshops, game nights, fire flows and annual events of Santarchy in December, the Bunny Hop in April, Artomatic, Art all Night and of course many parties (often costume events & theme camp fundraisers).
