Regional Community

This group includes members of the Burning Man community who live in Washington, DC as well as the surrounding metro area, including parts of Virgina, Maryland and West Virginia. It's our own version of the DMV.

Our community in very active and includes a number of Burning Man and Regional festival theme camps, as well as community and art groups that keep the energy going year round.

Our region hosts two Burning Man Regional burns each year, coordinated by FirePony Creative Society. The first is Playa del Fuego (PDF), which is held each Memorial Day weekend. In 2018, this event will be in Tamaqua, PA. The second event is Constellation, and is held in Elkins, West Virginia. In 2018, this event will be on Columbus Day weekend.

Our local DC burner community is also proud to host Catharsis on the Mall, which is a burn-inspired vigil on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

The DC Burners community hold regular “takeovers” of popular bars and put together Santarchy, the Bunny Hop, and many parties. You can usually find us on the rooftop at Local 16 every Thursday evening.
