The #SPIRITOFSAGAMORE is a 15x award winning rye whiskey that is cut to proof with their unique spring-fed water from Sagamore Farm.  Have you had it before? Do you want to know how it’s made and drink it?

You’re invited to participate in a burner takeover happy hour, whiskey distillery tour with whiskey tasting and history lesson at Sagagmore Spirits distillery, located on a hidden gem of waterfront property at Port Covington. Bring your own water  bottle & fill it with their filtered spring-fed water that is used to make the whiskey.

You can join us for food & drinks and skip the tour.

Happy hour specials will be updated after the restaurant opens in October.

Tours leave at the top of every hour and every half hour. Tours are an hour long and can accommodate up to 24 guests.  Tours include a tasting of 3 whiskeys and one chocolate. You can buy a ticket online in advance (preferred) from their website before you get there or buy one at the door if there is availability.  If we have a large group (per usual), we may have to stagger our tours to accommodate everyone: 5:00, 5:30, and 6:00. The last tour is at 6pm.

Our spirit flows from a spring house, built in 1909, at Maryland’s Sagamore Farm – naturally filtered spring water, fed from a limestone aquifer. The same water that fuels our champion thoroughbreds also cuts the rich spice of our rye, creating a spirit as revolutionary as America’s risk-takers and history-makers. Our story is one of passion, of old meeting new, and crafting a timeless American whiskey.


Aroma: Warm cinnamon, vanilla bean, honey, and nutmeg

Palate: Smooth mouth-feel, with caramel and molasses up front and peppery baking spices on the end

Color: A bonfire glow – amber with gold undertones

Finish: Smooth, with a zesty rye spiciness


Fueled by Maryland’s great veteran distillers, we forged a new path to define cask strength rye whiskey. There are no shortcuts here; no dilutions or alterations – simply a splash of spring water and a time-honored tradition of patience and purpose. Aged fully, and exploding in color and flavor, it’s a spirit that connects us to a storied past only Maryland Rye Whiskey can claim. These are our deepest roots, distilled.


Aroma: Full-bodied with notes of dark chocolate

Palate: Surprising flavors of honeysuckle and citrus with a touch of caramel

Color: Deep chestnut

Finish: Bold – with black pepper and vanilla
